On Sunday, Jayden and myself travelled on the MVF Team to the Sligo Mugendo open. This has always been a highly talented competition where some great fighters from around the country compete.Jayden had been sick and off school for the previous 2 weeks so it was a last minute decision for him to go. However the MVF Team were in excellent shape and all ready to go and get themselves some titles.
As usual when competing under Master Thompson the team entered a cross section of disciplines. On the day there was kata, points/ semi-contact and continuous/ light.
The 7 competitors all either won or placed in 13 events. I was especially proud of my wee man who took 2nd kata, 3rd points/ semi- contact and 3rd continuous/ light.
Next year we will plan to take our Faolchú combat class to the event.
