Galway Kickathon for Galway Hospice
Faolchu Karate Club are ready for our Autumn Kickathon.
The idea behind our Fund-raiser is to empower children and club members to realise that each individual can make a difference by their small deeds and most importantly together make a difference to our community.
2013 will see us fundraise for Galway Hospice. Galway Hospice support all of County Galway including the Aran Island when support is required for specialist care either in the Hospice or in your own home.

What's involved???
Students are asked to either do 100's of kick's and punches or a 5km run. Sponsorship cards are available from the club and it's up to the individual if they wish to get sponsored or not and help out our community.
Galway Karate compete at JKS (Internal) Championships
Well done to all who trained and competed today. Faolchu Dojo came home with 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 7 Bronze. However win lose or draw all our students behaved like champions and displayed the true character of karateka, they travelled as a team supported each other and (tried to) gracefully accept defeat.

What about your Mammy???
For many scholars and athletes the nature vs nurture debate is a common one.
Are you a born talent or has training and study brought you to your current abilities.
Personally I've researched a lot about the subject and that's another days debate.
Today after bringing 10 of our students aged from 9 years to 14 to Squad training in Dublin, where they had to be got out of their beds before 6am by Mammies and Daddies. The evidence is larger than ever, neither nature nor nurture can prevail without those parents.
The parents who make sure their child makes classes, competitions, squad training and all the other demands.
No child can prevail without a supportive parent.
