Visiting MSKC

Midlands Shotokan Karate Clubs where kind enough to invite us over to train with them last Saturday when they hosted Dermot O Keeffe Sensei in their Rochfordbridge venue. There was a great mixed class in a full hall which made for an enthusiast class, albeit a tough session on my tired legs. Many thanks to Alan Smyth Sensei for the invite and Jude Keenan Sensei in Rochfordbridge.

Faolchú Karate Grading Dates

It's that time of the year again and behind the scenes grading preparation is busily underway. I have compiled our student lists and this week plan to go through the various checks for each student. As for now I would like to tell everyone that now is the time to scale up your practise and to keep free the weekend of June 20th, 21st and 22nd.

Little Wolves Tournament

The 2014 Faolchú Little Wolves Tournament was once again a great success. Every year we hold a tournament for our 4-7 year olds.

Each year we are treated to an exceptional display of talent and fair play and this year was no exception.

A big thank you to all helpers, parents and competitors.

Midland Championships 2014

Our largest squad ever travelled to the midlands karate tournament, with many travelling to their first ever competition.

Kickathon Planning Time

We are now looking for ideas for our annual Kickathon and 5km run. Every year Faolchú Karate fundraise for a charity that supports us in our local area.
In previous years we have raised money for
2010 MS Tuam
2011 Hand-In-Hand
2012 MS Tuam
2013 Galway Hospice.

All funds raised stay in our local area, directly benefiting those who need it on our own door step. All ideas will be considered, however when choosing who to support it important to us that the charity is transparent and all of the money that is handed over goes directly to those who need it (no unnecessary wages or expenses).
