Well done to our fab Little Wolves who won Student of the Month on Tuesday Sarah Brandon and Conor O Brien, Lukas Kiaulakis and Matthew Shalley.

Thursday Little Wolves Cathal Coyne and Cyril Iakimov , Giorgio Profidia and Ross Mitchell .

Yamaguchi Sensei 7 th Dan

Hokubu Dojo Swords hosted Yamaguchi Sensei on Monday night. Six of our Faolchu dojo karateka travelled up to get to train under this amazing JKS Japan technical director and elite champion.

We where not to be disappointed, the speed, grace executed in every lesson was awe-inspiring.

Looking forward to training with him again next year.

St Patricks Day

Tuam St Patricks Day Parade and Dunmore St Patricks Day Parade where once again a great fun and successful day out. A huge thanks to everyone who came to march and display their karate and of course the suuortful parents and the best Mascot ever.

Tuam Little Wolves Tournament 2014

Our Faolchú Tournament for Little Wolves is designed to inspire and empower the little guys in our lives, in and out of their karate.

To accomplish this we encourage the children to compete with others who are the same age and level of ability, keeping categories small and awarding trophies for 1st, 2nd and joint 3rd. Competitors medals for all not winning a trophy in each division

WHEN: SUNDAY THE 27TH OF APRIL 12:00     

HOW MUCH:

1 EVENT €7

2 EVENTS €10

There are 2 divisions for each competitor kata and kumite.

Protective equipment will be provided with the exception of gum shields which are compulsory for fighting.

(These can be purchased from the club or any sports shop)

All entries must be in by Monday the 8th of April, no entering on the day.

Clonberne Karate Club

Karate in Clonberne student of the month winners Frankie Dowling and Conor Haverty proudly display their medal. Keep up the good work guys.

Sensei Matt Price

Sensei Matt Price 6th Dan will be instructing at Faolchu Dojo, Tuam on Friday the 4th of April.

Matt Price is a living legend and after his previous visit to Tuam all sessions are almost completely booked up. Amongst his achievements15 times Grand Slam Kumite Champion and current Jks England Squad coach he will be here for one night only.
17:00 - 17:50 Little Wolves ages 4 to 8 years
18:15 - 19:15 Age 9+ under brown Belt     
19:30 - 21:00 Brown & Black Belts.

Family Fun Quiz

The Thatch Bar Tuam, at 4pm on Sunday the 16th of March is the place to be if you want an entertaining cheap time out.

At only €10 per table, (snack food included) test your knowledge, where the youngest member is as important as the oldest in The Fun Family Quiz

St Patricks Day plans

Faolchu Karate will be in the Dunmore St Patricks Day Parade, meeting on Sion Hill at 12pm, finishing and collection area will be at the Abbey in Dunmore.

Faolchu Karate will be in the Tuam St Patricks Day Parade, meeting at the Swimming Pool car park at 1:15 and finishing and collection also at the pool.

Wear your karate suit and Faolchu hoodie or jacket also if you want. Have fun, Happy St Patricks Day.

Quiz

The Thatch Bar Tuam hosted our first table quiz on Sunday and what wonderful hosts they where. We where well fed & watered ,looked after and entertained.

The quiz was designed by quizmaster Marty Boyle who by all reports made a fantastic and fun event.

We had 14 teams who where closely tied throughout the event up to our eventual 10 round climax of a play off to fight for the top 3 places, The Brandon's look set to place but narrowly missed out leaving the top 3

There has been big demand from all who attended to make the Family Quiz an annual event.

Black Belt Nathan Collins

Tuam Karate Club Faolchu are glad to officially welcome the first (of many) student to come up from beginner to Black Belt, Nathan Collins.

Nathan was one of the first students through our door in January 2010 and has worked tirelessly since then achieving in a short 4 years Shodan (first black belt).

He has high ambitions to keep furthering his karate personally and competitively.

Piltown Championships 2014

Tuam Karate Kids performed with great spirit and true etiquette at the Piltown Karate Championships. Returning home with 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 8 bronze.They travelled and competed as a team supporting each other and making friends with other competitors, a team to be truly proud of.
