Osaka Cup Germany

Karate Team Faolchu had great success at the Osaka Cup in Germany.
The Irish team was made up of Regan Warde, Malcolm Murphy (coach), Keiron Friel, Colin Friel, Shauna Flynn, Clara Muller, Laura Daly, Marie Murphy, Matthew Friel and Jayden Murphy.

The team travelled out on Friday and enjoyed two days of sightseeing in The Netherlands and Germany before the big event on Sunday which seen teams from Germany, Belgium, Sweden, The Netherlands and Ireland compete in a variety of events.
We received a warm welcome from the host country upon our arrival and were treated to a historical tour of the city of Emden along with dinner to meet the opposing challenge counties.

The Irish competed in Kata (forms), Team synchronised Kata, Kumite (fighting) and a countries Kumite challenge.
3 Gold, 10 Silver and 2 Bronze was the hugely successful winnings from the international Tournament in Emden, Germany with many of the Irish suffering heat exhaustion by the end of the day due to the soaring temperatures. However their strong character and consistent training helped spirits remain high throughout the day.
We would like to congratulate all students who travelled and their supportive parents.
Next year we have our sights set on Sweden!
